The story on how I got 4 cats...part 3
Last post I explained the sad, hard story of how I lost my little Oreo. I also explained that Sonia, the one in charge of Mas Nou Gats association, gave me an option I had not thought about: adopting another kitten. And it so happened that she was also black and white like my little Oreo. She was also more or less her age, just a month younger. And so, she sent me this picture of Luna.
My first reaction was to burst into tears. I was still very heartbroken about my little Oreo, but at the same time felt happy because I was helping out another kitten that needed a home. I also thought that the name "Belle" would be perfect for her. She was so small and cute, I thought it fit perfectly.
We arranged a day for her to bring her over and so the day came. Sonia and I both cried about Oreo because she really was an unforgettable kitten. And so the little kitten came out. Sonia helped me introduce them and Nina and Lilo were so gentle and sweet with her. "Belle" however, wasn't so sweet! She kept hissing at them and was upset. So I had some alone time with her and saw that the name Luna was way better for her. And so, she became my little Luna.
Luna got used to being around Lilo and Nina, and they were very happy to welcome her. In no time they were all sleeping together and playing around. It made my heart rejoice to see how well they were getting along. AndI was happy to see how quick she was to adapt to the house, the girls and me.
Luna was very small, despite only being a month younger than Lilo and Nina. She loved eating and being bossy (she actually still is like that!). She also wanted all the attention on her but soon learned to share that spotlight.
A little story of where Luna came from: her mother was found pregnant wondering the streets and so they (Mas Nou Gats) helped her out by putting her in a nice, warm, loving home to help her with her pregnancy. Then she had 3 kittens, including Luna. One of her siblings was extremely similar to Luna, he just looked grumpier than her. The other one looked more like Nina, but they were both adopted quickly, leaving Luna with her mom. Soon after, she came to me and the mother was adopted about 2 weeks after.
Luna was never meant to replace my dear Oreo because that wouldn't be right nor fair for anyone. Luna came into my life in an unexpected way and I couldn't be happier to have her with me now. I was able to give a loving home to a kitten in need as well as another sister to Nina and Lilo.
And so that is how I welcomed my 3rd cat, Luna. I thought that 3 cats were way more than enough but little did I know that another one would steal my heart, Peke.
